Responding to a purported domestic disturbance, Ross, Calif. cops arrested attorney Joshua Schiller on suspicion of domestic violence. Schiller is the brother-in-law of Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Schiller, 40, is married to Newsom’s sister-in-law Melissa Siebel Schiller (the sister of Newsom’s wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom). The arrest in the upscale Marin County town just north of San Francisco, and which is just surfacing in the news, occurred at about 11 p.m. on January 13.
Schiller was booked in the Marin County Jail and later released after being taken into custody on “suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.” Officers on the scene reportedly determined that the victim had only minor visible injuries which did not necessitate immediate medical care. The case is pending further review by local prosecutors.
