A Pomona city councilman has been arrested on suspicion of possession of “child sexual abuse material” and annoying or molesting a child, law enforcement officials said Friday. City officials said they were “stunned” by the arrest and planned a special meeting to address the allegations.
Rubio Gonzalez, 45, was arrested at about 11 a.m. Thursday, according to Los Angeles County jail records.
Greg Risling, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, said Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of possession of child sexual abuse material and annoying or molesting a child. He was released on $20,000 bail on Friday afternoon, according to jail records.
