Orange County Register-
Beach parking lots blocked with yellow caution tape. Lifeguards, police, and CHP vehicles on patrol. A helicopter circling overhead.
That was the scene in Huntington Beach on Saturday morning, a day after thousands of protesters filled the streets and two days after the governor’s order to close Orange County beaches to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The sands were mostly empty, though people sporadically lounged there, some with beach umbrellas set up. And many people were biking, walking and jogging along the pathways.
A helicopter began circling overhead, telling people that the beaches were closed under state order and that everyone should leave. A surfer walking toward the beach aimed his middle finger at the helicopter.
