Daily Breeze-
Huddled under her umbrella on a rainy St. Patrick’s Day morning, Torrance High School junior Thazin Yee, 16, walked from her home near Torrance Elementary School to pick up a free breakfast and lunch.
Tuesday, March 17, was the first day Torrance Unified School District officials began providing free breakfasts and lunches to students at a half dozen campuses. School is suspended for at least the next two weeks in an effort to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.
“I’m part of the free lunch program,” Yee said. “This is a good opportunity for me to get food and not have to worry about it.”
