Los Angeles Daily News-
A homeless man living on the streets of the San Fernando Valley is suing the Los Angeles Police Department, accusing an officer of illegally towing his van and harassing him on Facebook by posting his location and personal history.
Rex Schellenberg, an 81-year-old who has lived on sidewalks and out of vehicles for more than 30 years, said in the federal lawsuit filed Monday that a senior lead officer from the Topanga Division used the Facebook page to enlist residents to pinpoint his location and target him for stops.
Schellenberg also claimed the officer and others using the page called him a drug addict with a mental illness. His attorney, Carol Soble, says the description is not true.
