LAPD: Crime Involving Homeless Increased By 50% In 2018

The Los Angeles Police Department said this month the number of crime reports that described people experiencing homelessness as either suspects or victims increased by more than 50-percent in 2018.

Most notably, the number of rapes attributed to suspects described as homeless increased by 78 percent and the number of serious assaults attributed to suspects described as homeless increased by 56 percent, according to the LAPD’s 2018 fourth quarter report on homelessness.
