Former Governor Jerry Brown is now making headlines after he says a Newman police officer’s death had nothing to do with sanctuary state laws. The officer was killed by an accused suspected undocumented immigrant. The Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims says the former governor is wrong.
“It is disheartening because he signed that bill. He signed SB 54. Even against the will of the State’s Sheriff’s Association and now he is admitting going forward that this could happen and it could happen again because of that law,” said Mims.
