A Sacramento County jury unanimously recommended the death penalty Tuesday for a man found guilty in the killings of two Northern California sheriff’s deputies.
A judge will make the official decision on Luis Bracamontes’ sentencing on April 25.
Bracamontes, who was in the country illegally after having previously been deported twice to Mexico, was convicted in February in the 2014 shooting deaths of Sacramento County sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County sheriff’s Detective Mike Davis.
