Washington Free Beacon- California Attorney General Xavier Becerra on Monday fiercely defended Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) from attacks made by President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell played a clip from a rally Saturday where the president criticized Waters for her continued calls for Trump’s impeachment, referring to the congresswoman as “a very low IQ individual.”
Trump mocked how Waters has continually called for his impeachment, regardless of whether he’s done anything wrong.
“She’s a low IQ individual,” he said. “You can’t help it. She really is.”
Becerra, a former Democratic representative, responded to Trump’s remarks by saying the president was too “afraid” to make such comments to Waters in person.
