California’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent in September, a record low since it starting tracking the number this way in 1976, according to the Employment Development Department.
That’s a drop from 4.2 percent in August and 4.5 percent in September of last year. California’s rate last month was still above the national rate of 3.7 percent in September. These numbers are seasonally adjusted.
