The former leader of the Republican Party in the California state Assembly was arrested late Wednesday night in Sacramento County, the Modesto Bee reports.

Stanislaus County Supervisor Kristin Olsen was stopped by the California Highway Patrol for driving without headlights. She was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and having a blood alcohol level greater than .08 percent, and was released from custody on Thursday.
