Inland Empire Homeownership Drops To 60%, 17th Lowest In The National

The Inland Empire’s homeownership rate dipped in the second quarter as more homes for sale stood empty.

In Riverside and San Bernardino counties, new census stats show 60.1 percent of households lived in homes they owned in the second quarter, the 17th lowest rate among the nation’s 75 metropolitan largest regions.

The second quarter ownership level compares with 61.2 percent in the previous quarter — the No. 26 low — and 58.4 percent a year earlier when the Inland Empire ranked No. 19 worst. A decade earlier, Inland Empire ownership stood at 69 percent — 28th best among the top 75.
