San Diego Measure That Increases Tax To Fund Homeless Programs Moves Forward

A City of San Diego ballot measure that would increase funding for homeless and housing programs moved forward Wednesday afternoon.

The proposal would increase the existing transient occupancy tax from 10.5 cents to 11.5 cents to provide funding for the programs.

Currently, the tax is paid by visitors to hotels, campgrounds and other lodging facilities within the city.
