Residents of Huron in California’s Central Valley are being told to boil tap water before they consume it after E. coli bacteria was found in the water system on Wednesday.

“We want to let citizens know that the only safe drinking water is bottled water or water that has been boiled for one minute,” a notice from the city reads.

The city believes the water system might have become contaminated due to a break in pipes or a failure in the water treatment process.
