The price tag for the proposed renovation and expansion of the Sacramento Convention Center has increased substantially since the project was originally envisioned, according to a city staff report.
A new report on the City Council agenda for Tuesday night’s meeting revealed that the new price tag for the project has grown to between $220 million and $240 million, based on the latest cost estimates.
At one point, the estimated cost of the project was as low as $120 million.
