About a week after announcing the city would sue Orange County and three cities over the impacts of homelessness, Santa Ana officials have decided to expand their proposed suit to include every other city in the county.

The goal of the suit, which officials expect to file by the end of the week, is to get every city to participate in solving an issue that has disproportionately fallen to Santa Ana to address, Mayor Miguel Pulido said Thursday, April 26.

“We need to have a global solution to a global, countywide problem and I think it is best that everybody participate,” he said. “The reason for the lawsuit is simply a mechanism to put everybody on an equal footing.”
